Culture Night: Tivoli Gardens
All Women Deliver Conference participants are invited to a culture and dialogue evening the 18 May in the historic, beautiful, and world-renowned Tivoli Gardens in the center of Copenhagen. This is an opportunity for attendees to meet Denmark and for Denmark to meet you! Culture evenings are a longstanding tradition at Women Deliver conferences; In 2013 at our third global conference in Kuala Lumpur, attendees were treated to a traditional Malaysian street fair.
Why Tivoli? Tivoli is the second oldest operating amusement park in the world, and the Women Deliver Culture Night will provide conference participants a great opportunity to meet and network with each other, as well as the Danes. A miniature version of the Danish political dialogue festival Folkemoedet, (the People’s Meeting) will take place in Tivoli’s H.C. Andersen Castle. Here, conference participants will have the opportunity to exchange thoughts with Danish citizens, Danish Parliamentarians, and representatives from more than thirty Danish businesses, organizations, and institutions — each highlighting a different aspect of the welfare state. ‘Folkemoedet’ will provide a unique insight into Danish democracy and discussion culture. The Women Deliver Culture Night will also be a night of exploring the vast gardens, enjoying amazing rides and, listening to amazing music!
Busses for the culture night in Tivoli will leave from the conference center at 17.30, right after the closing plenary on Wednesday 18 May. Women Deliver and Tivoli will cover entrance fees, as well as provide light snacks and beverages. Please Note: Participants will be responsible for transportation back to their respective hotels. Public transportation in Copenhagen is extremely efficient and more information can be found at: http://www.rejseplanen.dk/bin/query.exe/en
We look forward to seeing you in Tivoli!
