Amelia is an obstetric and neonatal simulation specialist at PRONTO International based in Bihar, India; a state with poor maternal and neonatal health indicators relative to other states in India. Amelia’s work focuses on supervising and supporting a mobile nurse-midwifery mentoring program integrating simulation and team training training program. The program trains Nurse-Midwife Mentors to teach Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) effective management of maternal and neonatal emergencies using PRONTO International’s low-tech, highly realistic birth simulator and training curriculum at Primary Health Centers (PHCs). Amelia is a postgraduate nurse who worked as a nurse and midwife for several years after which she took up this role with PRONTO International. She plays a major role in supporting the implementation of effective simulation training through training of trainers and providing informative feedback.
