Angel Chibuye Chelwa
Angel is currently a Global Health Corps Fellow, working at Population Council Zambia on sexual, reproductive and maternal health research. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Zambia as a Sociology major with a minor in Psychology. While at university, Angel volunteered with Youth Alive Zambia, an organization that works to encourage behavior change for young people in the face of the AIDS pandemic, and was also involved with the university’s HIV/AIDS Response Program. In her final year at university she conducted a study of the factors that affect reintegration of users of mental health services in her city. Angel went on to intern with Churches Health Association of Zambia, where she handled the organization’s social networking sites and helped monitor partner projects all over Zambia. In her free time Angel enjoys reading, cooking, baking and engaging in intellectual debate.
