Dominique Niyonizigiye

She is responsible for the Gender Equality programme within the organization; supporting the IOC Women in Sport commission’s work and strategy. Before joining the IOC, Dominique worked for the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Côte d’Ivoire as well as for the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs in Nepal and Burundi. Former athlete in her country Burundi and first woman in the Executive Board of the National Olympic Committee, Dominique has occupied a number of leadership positions in the Burundi sport movement as Chair of the NOC Women and Sport commission; Deputy Secretary General of the NOC and Secretary General of the Burundi Tennis Federation.
