Hannah Blencowe

Hannah Blencowe joined the LSHTM faculty in 2010. A pediatric and women’s health clinician with a Masters in Public Health, her work currently focuses on the UN’s Child Health Epidemiology Reference Group (CHERG) neonatal team towards the advancement of the global perinatal epidemiology knowledge base and facilitating the integration of this knowledge in policy and practice. Specific areas of focus include global estimates of preterm birth prevalence, low birthweight, small-for-gestational-age and stillbirth, neonatal morbidity and associated long term consequences and the burden of congenital disorders, systematic reviews of interventions to reduce neonatal mortality  and providing technical inputs and analysis contributing to the ‘Every Newborn – global newborn action plan’ (ENAP) towards improving measurement for perinatal newborn health to reach 2030 targets to end preventable maternal and neonatal deaths and stillbirths.
