Jennifer-AmadiJennifer is passionate about promoting healthy behavior through advocacy and community engagement. She is a social media executive at DKT Nigeria, creating and sharing content about family planning including how to access it and proper use. Jennifer volunteers for Ipas-Nigeria as a Youth Advocate. She also supports Ipas in their work on sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender based violence in Nigeria. Jennifer was a vocal advocate for the passage of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Bill, hosting an online contest and utilizing new media to galvanize support for the passage of a bill including the hashtag #VAPPBill. She also planned and championed an advocacy campaign, aimed at creating visibility for the need to act on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS concerns. This advocacy campaign was focused on gaining buy-in from policy makers and civil society organizations in Nigeria on behalf of the Population Council, Nigeria. As a National Youth Corps member, Jennifer trained and mentored 47 peer educators on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV/AIDS prevention and care. A graduate of Health Education with second class upper credit division, Jennifer also interned with the Traffina Foundation, providing clean birth kits to pregnant mothers and training to traditional birth attendants on safe delivery methods in an effort to improve maternal and child health.
