Jessica Hjarrand

Souk_Photo_of_JHJessica received her M.Phil. in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oslo, where she completed research on education and conflict funded by a Fulbright grant, and her certification to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) from Hamline University in Minnesota, where she spent 6 years teaching adult literacy, primary and secondary ESL to migrants and refugees. Jessica has more than 6 years of experience in international humanitarian and development work in the fields of education and freedom of expression with UNESCO, to whom she was seconded as a technical specialist through the NORCAP programme, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Jessica is based at the Norwegian Refugee Council in Oslo, Norway.
