Jose Jeronimo
Dr Jeronimo is a gynecologist oncologist by training and currently acts as Senior Advisor for Women’s Cancers at PATH in Seattle, WA. Dr Jeronimo received his M.D. degree in 1989, and completed specialization on gynecological oncology by 1996. He served as the staff scientist for the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics within the United States National Cancer Institute (NCI/NIH), where Dr Jeronimo was part of the Human Papillomavirus Unit at the Hormonal and Reproductive Epidemiology Branch for 6 years. In 2008 he moved to Seattle to lead the cervical cancer screening projects at PATH; there Jose is in charge of leading the validation and demonstration of new molecular technologies for cervical cancer screening; development and evaluation of new treatment modalities for pre-cancerous lesions of the uterine cervix, as well as the implementation of new strategies for cervical cancer prevention in several countries. He was honored with the Meritorious Award of Scientific Achievement by the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology where he has served as member of some committees in that society during the last years.
