Rebecca joined the Center in 2013 and leads the Center’s advocacy team in building human rights standards and seeking increased recognition and implementation of reproductive rights at the United Nations and in other inter-governmental processes.

Before joining the Center, she was Deputy Director of the International Network for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR-Net), where she oversaw the organization’s program work and coordinated the Women and ESCR Working Group.  Prior to becoming Deputy Director, she coordinated ESCR-Net’s work on adjudication of economic and social rights.  Before that, Rebecca worked on environmental justice issues at the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, which included defending the human right to water at national, regional, and international forums, and as U.S. Foreign Policy Fellow at the Women’s Environment and Development Organization, advocating for changes in U.S. policies that impact woman’s human rights abroad.

Rebecca graduated cum laude from CUNY School of Law, where she participated in the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic advocating against gender-based violence and representing migrant domestic workers. She also served on the CUNY Law Review. Rebecca received her B.A. in political science and women’s studies from Hunter College, also cum laude.

Rebecca serves on the board of Judgment Watch and has published articles related to equality rights, ESC rights, and disability. She also served two years in the Peace Corps in the Gambia.
