Honourable Sylvia N. Ssinabulya has been a Member of Parliament for Mityana district, Uganda since 2001.  She holds professional qualifications in the areas of education, management and public health and more than two decades of experience spanning government and civil society. She introduced new maternal care legislation within the national political policy and initiated new legislation in Uganda to get maternal care on Uganda’s budget for the first time. She is known throughout her district and the Parliament for her advocacy on behalf of mothers.
