Theresia Moyo is the Head of Education at Camfed Tanzania, an NGO dedicated to tackling poverty and inequality by supporting marginalized girls to go to school, succeed, and become leaders and change makers in their communities.  Before completing her BA in Sociology at the University of Dar es Salaam in 2005, Theresia volunteered to deliver sexual reproductive health and HIV/ AIDS education to secondary school students and their communities, gaining first-hand experience of the many barriers to education for girls in rural Tanzania. She also joined the Unite to Fight AIDS Speaker Tour of 18 UK universities to share her campaigning experience and raise awareness of how the pandemic affects young people. As a founding member of Camfed Tanzania, Theresia works with communities, schools and district partners to help implement Camfed’s girls’ education programs at primary and secondary level, as well as to support young women graduates in the CAMA alumnae network to become economically independent and use their experience to support the next generation of vulnerable children through school.
