Helen Scott is the Executive Director of the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. The Canadian Network is a collaboration of over 80 organizations working in more than 1,000 communities globally and is a significant galvanizing force, driving Canadian leadership and investment in women’s and children’s health worldwide. Comprised of non-governmental organizations, academics and health practitioners, the Canadian Network brings together knowledge and expertise to improve results and engage Canadians from across the country. Focusing on maternal, newborn and child, Helen has achieved numerous success, including working with the World Health Organization on childhood injury prevention across 49 countries; implementing and evaluating the Canadian national program for food fortification with folic acid; and evaluation of multiple immunization programs. Helen holds a doctorate in epidemiology from the University of Toronto.
