Dr Thach Duc Tran is a Research Fellow at the Jean Hailes Research Unit, Monash University. He was awarded a PhD in International Health at the University of Melbourne, 2014. Thach was awarded Bridging Postdoctoral Fellowships by The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University in 2014 and 2015 and an Early Career Fellowship (2016-2019) by Australia National Health and Medical Research Council. He has more than 10 years’ experience as a public health research officer in Vietnam, working for the Research and Training Centre for Community Development (RTCCD, 1998-2010). He retains an honorary position at RTCCD as an Adjunct Vice Director in Research. His research focuses on women’s mental health and child health and development in early childhood in low and middle-income countries. In the past 5 years, he is the first author or a co-author of 40 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, including the Bulletin of the WHO, British Journal of Psychiatry, and Journal of Affective Disorders.
